Golden Ideas

Tip #7: Learn new techniques often.

Use the resources that are at your fingertips to look-up and learn new techniques on a regular basis.
A few of my favorite resources are:

  1. Pinterest  ~ I ♥ this one!
  2. Close to my Heart catalog
  3. Cards that you receive from other people
  4. Close to my Heart - Make it From Your Heart - Idea Books. Only $7.95 and are overflowing with ideas! They are on page 141 in the 2014 Spring & Summer Catalog.  You can find it here: http://thesassyscrapper.ctmh.com/ctmh/products/online-idea-book.aspx
Here is a link to my Pinterst page: http://www.pinterest.com/ohendricks/card-ideas/. Please feel free to take a look and become inspired.

One of the most recent techniques that I have learned is how to cut paper to create a sunburst.

Here are a couple of samples:

Technique #5: 2nd & 3rd Generation Stamping

Stamp your image and then before cleaning the stamp stamp again and even again. It gives the image a more faded look each time you stamp.

With the card below, the butterfly appears to be fluttering with this effect.

Hope your paying attention!

Tip #6: Stamp on the inside of your card!

Stamp the same image or
 a coordinating one
 to help give your card
a more custom feel.

It also helps fill some space on
the inside!

Tip #4: Use your scraps!

While getting ready for this month's Club project I had to cut the same thing out multiple times which left me with a pile of scraps that looked like this:

These are a few of the ways I used them:

I hope that inspires you to create something new!
But be careful not to become a paper hoarder!  :)

Tip #3: Too few pictures?

When you are working on a layout that
does not have too many pictures,
try matting the stickers and other embellishments
to help fill up space on the page.

Take a look at my page set below - I only have 4 pictures for this double layout, but the page is filled up and looks complete thanks to 'bulking up' the stickers.
You can also try matting a sticker for the title on the page.

Tip #2: Title Placement
Try a new take on where to put the title of your scrapbook page.
On the opposite page or adhering the letters around the corner of a page are just a couple of ideas.
Feel free to comment below with anything that you have tried.

The overlay on this page was cut out from the new Close to my Heart Artbooking Cricut Cartridge.
One of the many pretty things you can create with this cartridge.

Tip #1
Make sure to have fun with your Cricut cartridges and use them to their fullest potential!
It wasn't until this weekend that I found this cute card with a pop-up to hold a gift card on the Close to my Heart Artiste Cartridge. . .
Just one cut and the card was ready to fold and embellish!!
