Tips & Techniques - Fraying Ribbon

How to fix frying ribbon.

What you will need:
  1. The ribbon that you are working with
  2. Lighter or matches
Ever have ribbon that looks like this?

All you need to do is carefully melt the end of the ribbon - should take just a second.

It seals the end of the ribbon and no more fraying!
How easy is that! :)

Tips and Techniques - Cleaning Multiple Stamps

Have you ever used a lot of little stamps for one project?

I did when I made this piece for my Mini Album project:

While I was stamping I used lots of 1x1 blocks,

But each time I switched to another stamp,  I put that stamp on to a bigger block.

Then I was able to clean them all at once instead of each one individually. Keeps them all in one spot and saves time!

*Should have thought of this a long time ago!

Tips and Techniques - Save the Image

Ever stamp an image and it did not completely appear?

If you are using clear Close to my Heart stamps (which are super are awesome!)- you are in luck.
You can save this image!

Notice the "ou" in "Thinking of You" did not stamp. So what do you do? You could start over, but you can also save this image!

Here is what to do:

1. Do NOT re-ink the stamp

2. If you look at the stamp, it still has ink on it from the spots that did not transfer.

3. Line up the stamp and carefully stamp again.

And walla . . You have saved the image - and probably the day too!

Tips and Techniques

Buttons - Buttons - and more Buttons!
taken from Creating Keepskaes Magazine

Circle shapes are a staple in scrapbooking. From brads to buttons, you'll always find circles parading in the scrapbook store--and in your home. It's time to look at these brads and buttons in new ways to see how you can add a creative twist to them on your scrapbook pages and get more from your scrapbooking purchases. Try one of these ideas.

* Place a button in the center of a flower accent.

* Replace the dot of an "i" with a brad.

* Add a brad or button over circular elements of a rub-on design.

* Spell out a title using brads.

* Carefully use wire cutters to snap several buttons in half, and then use the semicircles to create a scallop border.

* Use buttons to frame a photo.

* Create a page border with brads.

* Place mini brads on cupcake accents to look like sprinkles.

* Use a large brad as a journaling spot for a phrase, quote, or caption.

* Secure a long ribbon strip to a layout with a brad on each end.

* Use brads as bullet points for list-style journaling.

* Use brads as eyes on paper-pieced robots and other objects or animals.
